Perry is Perry is a Chicago native she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in her role on the ABC show Roseanne. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood, for fear of the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry was a shy teenager and didn't act. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry went into New York to search for television work landing small roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led the actress back to California and she was able to find theater jobs. She appeared on Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In the year 2015, she was alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in the ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. Perry was a regular character in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. In the same year, she was cast as a younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young character of her mom's role. The character was assigned by audition regardless of the fact that she is a relative to the character.
