Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely well-known. She was raised by her mom in the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and made to feel unwanted. It was during her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence following her acclaim in an audition. This experience did not just help her gain confidence but changed her outlook on the future. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. At the age of 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail, were her biggest break. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. An accomplished singer, she's also produced songs as well as an extensive work. She has also spoken out in support of LGBT issues.
